Craft Revival Trust

The Craft Revival Trust (CRT) is engaged in bringing information on crafts into the public domain. As a part of this process, CRT has created an encyclopaedic guide and resource base on the crafts, textiles and folk arts of South Asia, with a particular focus on India. This, as well as information on our other activities can be found on our website. We encourage you to use this blog freely to post queries and comments and to initiate discussions on the crafts sector.

Melissa-Jo Moses:

I work at the Royal AB Museum in Edmonton as the Metis interpreter for the Aboriginal Gallery. I am also an Artisan of traditional crafts using porcupine quills, moose hair, fish scales... recently have been asked to do a replica of a fire bag from the 1800s. To try and be accurate to the time period I am using 100% wool, cotton, silk... The problem I am having is I need to dye the cotton lining and I am looking for natural dyes that I can purchase. I would also like to use natural dyes for my quills, moose hair and fish scales. Do you sell natural dyes? and if so how can I purchase some?
